We are excited to be recruiting for an Assistant Store Manager to join our client at their Byfleet store. Our client is the UK’s leading provider of safe and contemporary self-storage units for individual and commercial customers. As Assistant Store Manager, you will work in a closeknit team alongside the Store Manager and Sales Rep, supporting the running of the store and playing a key part in driving success and ensuring an excellent customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Store Manager:

 

·        Deliver consistently high levels of customer service with the aim of maximising revenue and profitability.

·        Take full responsibility for the store when the Store Manager is not present.

·        Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including opening/closing, call handling, up selling and admin.

·        Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and security.

·        Keep accurate records and ensure full compliance with company policies.

·        Maintain awareness of competitors and local market activity.

·        Support the Store Manager in achieving store targets, sales growth and cost control.

·        Take ownership of financial contribution and performance KPIs.

·        Maximise sales at every opportunity through promoting the products and services available and ensuring consistency of performance throughout the team.

·        Foster a positive working environment where the team feels supported and engaged.

 

About You / Experience Required:

 

·        Proven experience supervising, leading, or managing a team.

·        Previous experience as a senior staff member, such as a supervisor, team leader, keyholder, or duty manager, and previous experience in a customer-facing role such as retail, hospitality, or call centre environment.

·        Confident and responsible; able to make day-to-day operational decisions independently.

·        Hands-on and people-focused.

·        Able to coach, support, and motivate team members to perform at their best.
