Hours:Â part time, up to 18 hours per week - term time only
 We are currently recruiting for a Carpentry Technician Demonstrator to join our client in Gosport. Our client is a Trust who encourages individuals to thrive and make a positive change within their community. As the Carpentry Technician Demonstrator, you will demonstrate the use of practical equipment and provide aid and technical support to staff and students as required.

Duties and Responsibilities of Carpentry Technician Demonstrator:
Â
·       Prepare and set out equipment and materials for staff and students to conduct experiments and clear away after their use.
·       Demonstrate use of practical equipment, exercises, workshops and/or processes and to answer questions related to those demonstrations.
·       Assist students and staff and provide technical support and assistance in the use of equipment as required, sharing your knowledge and skills to support the development of teaching, learning and assessment.
·       Maintain, install, and repair equipment and liaise with external contractors.
·       Order supplies and provide advice on the purchase of equipment, maintaining appropriate records in accordance with procurement expectations.
·       Source relevant articles for lessons as required by teaching staff.Â
·       Assist in the preparation, organisation and running of open days or evenings as requested.
·       Ensure workshops are maintained to the highest standards and ensure that the appropriate health and safety checks are carried out
·       Take responsibility for and ensure Health and Safety, safeguarding, and equality policies are adhered to within all aspects of work.
·       Conduct and write risk assessments as required and promote the highest levels of health and safety standards.
·       Maintain a clear inventory of equipment and supplies and other records
·       Collaborate with staff, discuss timetables and equipment requirements, working as part of a team.
·       Ensure the safe storage and disposal of COSHH, with due regards to Health and Safety.
·       Monitor and carry out regular inspections on the radiation store.
·       Participate in training and development and comply with all policies and procedures.
·       Undertake any other duties as required within the scope of the role.

About You: / Experience required:Â Â
Â
·       Enhanced DBS is required
·       COSHH training and experience, or willingness to undergo training
·       A good level of carpentry knowledge is required
·       Recent experience of working in a workshop and equipment is required
