Role: Construction Technician

Job Type: 6 month FTC (end of June2026). This role has the potential to be extended but this is not guaranteed.

Hourly Rate: £26,519.00 per year (FTE)

Location: Fareham

Hours: 37 hours per week (full time Monday – Friday, term time only)

We are recruiting for a Construction Technician to join our client based in Fareham. Our client is a leading technical and professional college in the UK with a great reputation for providing learners and staff alike with the opportunity to achieve excellence within a supportive environment.

As a Construction Technician, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting teachers to successfully deliver courses, ensuring the planning, continuation and supervision of educational materials, tools, equipment and spaces.

Duties and Responsibilities of Construction Technician:

· Plan, manage, and coordinate workshops, as well as all tools, equipment, and any materials required for teaching sessions. This will include setting up, testing equipment, and storing all items safely.

· Supporting all students and staff throughout laboratory and workshop activities, and ensuring everyone involved can safely operate equipment, whilst maintaining accurate records of instruction.

· Maintain all health, safety, and compliance records, creating and revising risk assessments, COSHH and maintenance records, whilst adhering to college policies and regulations.

· Stock management and ordering supplies as necessary, ensuring stores are kept tidy at all times.

Experience required:

· Current enhanced DBS

· Experience working in motor vehicle, engineering or aeronautical industries with relevant qualifications.

· Experience of working in a workshop environment

· First Aid at Work
