Role: Part Time Payroll Administrator
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £16 per hour
Location: Southampton SO16
Hours: 18- 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday (must be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) the role may be offered on a hybrid basis at the manager’s discretion, once you are able to work independently.

Barnas Recruitment are pleased to be recruiting for a Part Time Payroll Administrator on behalf of our client based in Southampton. As a Payroll Administrator you will be working within a busy payroll team supporting with the full end-to-end payroll process for their clients. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of UK payroll legislation, strong organisational abilities, and a high level of accuracy while handling confidential information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure payroll activities comply with HMRC regulations, PAYE, pension contributions, and statutory deductions
Process weekly, monthly, and annual payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
Keep payroll records up to date, including new starters, leavers, and any changes to pay or benefits
Support payroll audits, reporting tasks, and year-end statutory processes
Handle payroll queries efficiently, providing clear and professional responses
About you:
Experience in a payroll position within a similar environment
Competent in using payroll systems such as Sage, BrightPay, or equivalent
Sound understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory obligations
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Able to manage confidential and sensitive information in a professional and discreet manner
