We are thrilled to be recruiting for a Planning Specialist - Land Development to join our client in Fareham. Our client is a Fast growing, award winning structural engineering and transport planning consultancy.

As Planning Specialist - Land Development you will be working within a Transport Team responsible for leading and managing small–medium sized projects, including budget and time management, delegating where appropriate with input from senior colleagues.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write and occasionally check Transport Statements, Technical Notes, Travel Plans and Access Appraisals

  • Support with writing planning application to include pre apps

  • Prepare more detailed reports such as Modelling Notes and Transport Assessments

  • Good understanding and application of modelling packages, and methodologies to calculate trip generation and distributions

  • Ability to identify/propose mitigation schemes to assist with highway capacity and active travel improvements

  • Complete access appraisals

  • Ability to complete / review of planning drawing requirements, such as visibility displays, vehicle tracking diagrams, access designs etc with minimal changes and problem solve where required

  • Undertake site visits independently and provide professional opinions accordingly

  • Help preparing material for and attendance at Public Consultations

  • Complete fee proposals for small to medium projects and input into larger sites where required

  • Attend business development / networking events, where required

  • Assist colleagues in planning and delivering marketing initiatives to agreed costs and programmes

  • Build effective relationships with Clients

  • Have awareness of the market sectors within which the company operates

  • Support the development of all company promotional media

  • Provide occasional free advice and professional judgement/opinions where appropriate


About You: / Experience required:

  • AutoCAD, TRICs and modelling software

  • Ability to work calmly under pressure

  • Promote and respect the principles of confidentiality

  • Carry out tasks and duties assigned in a positive and dignified manner

  • Proactive approach to solving problems

  • Work effectively and accurately

  • Be adaptable in carrying out functions on behalf of the company

  • Work well as part of a team
