Contract Length: 18-Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join a well-established travel business on an 18-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. Duties and responsibilities of a Senior Payroll Specialist:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for payroll queries, providing timely and professional support to colleagues and managers

  • Take ownership of the full end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring all data is checked, processed accurately, and payslips are issued in line with current tax legislation

  • Maintain full compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, National Minimum Wage, GDPR, and all other relevant statutory requirements

  • Keep payroll and employee records accurate and up to date within payroll and HR systems

  • Prepare, generate, and submit payroll reports and statutory returns to external bodies, including HMRC

  • Assist with Gender Pay Gap reporting and produce regular management reports covering payroll costs, overtime, sickness, and headcount

  • Monitor and maintain payroll systems to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and ongoing compliance, liaising with internal teams where required

  • Partner with the HR team to support the administration of employee benefits such as pensions, private medical insurance, and family-friendly policies

  • Communicate payroll processes, updates, and key deadlines clearly across the organisation


Qualifications & Experience

  • CIPP qualification preferred (minimum Payroll Technician Certificate)

  • Minimum of 5 years’ payroll experience

  • Good working knowledge of The Access Group (preferred), SAP and Excel
